This innovative academic project seeks to evaluate the impact of transnational cities’ networks on European migration policies and to develop guidelines, in cooperation with politicians and practitioners, in order to strengthen their work in the European multi-level governance system.
The aim of the workshop is to reflect on the results of interviews collected during the first part of the project and to draw up concrete recommendations for greater inclusion of local actors in multi-level migration and integration governance. During the workshop, the research team will briefly present its preliminary findings on main strategies, best practice, as well as shortcomings in cooperation between actors involved in migration and integration governance at local, national and EU level. Participants will then discuss the recommendations in breakout sessions and feed these back to the final plenary session.
