European space policy and CSDP

On 13 June, Andrea Frontini moderated a session on 'The European space policy and CSDP: promoting synergies', in the framework of a course on the challenges of European Space for CSDP of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), jointly organised by the Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale (IHEDN) and the Centro Alti Studi per la Difesa (CASD).

On 3 June 2013, Yves Pascouau moderated a panel discussion on key priorities of Sweden’s chairmanship of the Global Forum on Migration and Development. The meeting aimed at presenting Swedish and EU’s priorities in the field of migration and development and discuss further policy outcomes. The seminar was hosted by Ambassador Dag Hartelius, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the EU, and involved the following speakers Tobias Billström, Swedish Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy, Cecilia Malmström, EU Commissioner in charge of Home Affairs, Klaus Ruddischhauser, Deputy Director General DG DevCo; Eugen Caras, Ambassador of Moldova

EU and Azerbaijan: security and integration

Hans Martens and Amanda Paul travelled to Baku, Azerbaijan, to participate at a conference organised by the EPC and the Centre for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) on 'EU and Azerbaijan: security and integration'. Hans Martens touched on the financial crisis in Europe during his speech, and Amanda Paul spoke on 'Nagorno-Karabakh: A Challenge for the EU'.

New Pact for Europe - Promoting the European Debate

The EPC is pleased to announce the launch of the New Pact for Europe, an ambitious project supported by a large transnational consortium that will, until 2014, develop proposals and promote a European-wide debate on how to reform the European Union in light of the manifold challenges Europe is currently facing.

On 5 June, Zuzana Novakova participated in a conference in Berlin, during which three young Europeans discussed Europe's lost generation and the EU crisis with German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble.
