EU budget and structural reforms
19 October 2017

On 19 October, Robin Huguenot-Noël presented the main findings of the EPC issue paper ‘Can the EU structural funds reconcile growth, solidarity and stability objectives?’ to scholars of the Europe’s Political Economy working group of the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET). He also attended various economics training organised in the framework of the 2017 edition of the Festival for New Economic Thinking held in Edinburg (Scotland).

Linking Cohesion Policy & economic governance

Robin Huguenot-Noël and Alison Hunter presented the main findings of the recent EPC issue paper ‘Can the EU structural funds reconcile growth, solidarity and stability objectives?’ to over 60 EU regions gathered under the umbrella of the Lower Austria partnership initiative. The presentation was held at the premises of the Permanent Representation of Lower Saxony to the EU.


Reform of the Eurozone PES conference
12 October 2017

Robin Huguenot-Noël moderated the conference: “Making the Euro work for everyone” at the 2017 PES ‘Fair Growth’ conference. The conference held in Brussels featured Maria João Rodrigues, President of FEPS and Member of the European Parliament (MEP), Udo Bullmann, MEP and László Andor, former Commissioner for Employment and Social Inclusion.

Amanda Paul took part in a three-day study to Moldova organised by the German Marshall Fund. It was related to Moldova's domestic agenda and foreign policy, and relations with the EU and Russia in particular.

Claire Dhéret met with Swedish trade union representatives in Brussels and led a discussion on the future of Social Europe.


EESC Eastern Neighbours Follow-up Committee
29 September 2017

Tania Marocchi participated in a European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) Eastern Neighbours Follow-up Committee meeting on the state of play in EU-Belarus relations and talked on the political situation in Belarus, its relations with the EU, as well as on civil society activities in the country.
