Strengthening European civil society

Julian Rappold hosted the workshop 'Advocating Europe: Engaging the EU bubble with impact stories from civil society' in cooperation with the idea challenge for European initiatives, Advocate Europe, at this year's MitOst Festival in Athens. The workshop discovered civil society perceptions of the "Brussels bubble, explored why engaging with Brussels is important and dived into advocacy and storytelling formats in the EU policy context that make Brussels listen. The annual International MitOst Festival is a meeting point for all those who are interested in cultural and civic exchange in Europe and its neighbouring regions. It brings together thinkers and activists, experts and newcomers.

Democratic resilience and renewal

Corina Stratulat spoke on how to rethink democratic norms, processes and institutions at an expert workshop on democratic resilience and renewal organised by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy (IDC Herzlyia) and Reconnect at the Villa la Collina, Cadenabbia in Italy. While she was there, she also moderated a session called 'Democracy in Europe: what went wrong? How bad is it?'.
