Annika Ahtonen moderated a panel discussion on Building the European digital single market with and for consumers, organised as a part of the XXII Economic Forum in Krynica, Poland. The panelists included Lech Walesa, Former President of Poland, Meglena Kuneva, former European Commissioner for Consumer Affairs and Chair of EPC’s Governing Board, Roza Thun, Member of the European Parliament, Jorgen Bang-Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of PLAY and Lidia Kozłowska, Deputy President of Poland's Office of Electronic Communications.
'What else is new?'

Janis A. Emmanouilidis has together with Franco Algieri, Director of Research at the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES), contributed a chapter entitled "What else is new? Zur Relevanz klassischer und neuer Themen der europäischen Integration für die angewandte Politikforschung" to a book edited by Karl-Rudolf Korte and Manuela Glaab entiteld Angewandte Politikforschung published by Springer VS in July 2012. NEF EU Summit
3 September 2012
Janis A. Emmanouilidis participated in an unconventional "EU Summit" organised by the Network of European Foundations (NEF), which took place in Austria between 31 August – 2 September 2012. The NEF Summit aimed to identify new ideas and options for the future of Europe. The 50 delegates included participants from all over Europe and from different strands of life. The report refers to and quotes from, inter alia, a policy dialogue on the future of a 'federal Europe', which was organised by EPC and Notre Europe on 12 July 2012 in Brussels.

Hans Martens was invited by the prestigious Institute for Global Economics in Seoul, Korea, to speak on the economic and financial situation in the Euro-area. The speech before a large audience in Seoul was also well reflected in the Korean printed and electronic media.
