In March 2020 the European Commission presented one of the main building blocks of the European Green Deal – a new Circular Economy Action Plan. It sets out an ambitious vision for scaling up the circular economy, the decoupling of economic growth from resource use and the strengthening of Europe’s industrial base within the limits of the Earth’s resources. The plan comprises a myriad of initiatives on sustainable products and waste-related policies, amongst others.

One year on from the publication of the Circular Economy Action Plan, this online Policy Dialogue will review the state of play on implementation, including the challenges and prospects with regard to the transition to a circular economy, and in the context of the health pandemic. The Policy Dialogue will be chaired by Stefan Šipka, Policy Analyst within the EPC’s Sustainable Prosperity for Europe Programme.
