EVENT
This Forum is a response to the unprecedented global policy shifts we are currently witnessing. Its purpose is to serve as a unique high-level platform for conceptualizing ways to salvage international economic collaboration and free trade while ensuring countries can properly look after their economic security. Through the notions of open economic security and collaborative interdependence, the Forum aims to identify tangible international steps towards reduced risks and vulnerabilities.
This inaugural edition will bring together leading international policymakers, business representatives and experts from around the world. It will feature a public conference on June 5, followed by invitation-only roundtables on June 6 for deeper strategic discussions in a closed-door setting.
What to Expect
June 5 – Public Sessions
The opening day of the Forum will bring together ministers, senior policymakers, leading experts, and key stakeholders to examine critical topics including the evolving role of economic statecraft, trade and security policy, the geopolitics of technology, and East-West-South relations in a more contested international order.
June 6 – Thematic Discussions
The Forum will transition to invitation-only roundtables, offering a closed-door setting for in-depth strategic discussions on critical economic security issues, alongside one open session for broader engagement on needed partnerships.
Why Attend?
Over the past years, the EPC has been at the forefront of discussions on economic security in Europe, hosting high-level speakers such as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for her seminal speech on EU-China relations in March 2023, and leading the debate on this crucial topic through our flagship Economic Security project.
