EU-Moldova visa free perspective – More than just talk? - Roundtable

25 November 2011

In July 2010 the EU and Moldova started talks which resulted in an Action Plan for Visa Liberalisation, in January 2011. The European Commission issued its first report in September 2011 which concluded that the Moldovan authorities had made “good progress” in adopting migration-related legislation.  At the same time, the report indicated significant challenges remaining in terms of effective and sustainable implementation.  Based on the findings of EU assessment missions this autumn, a second report is expected to be published by the end of the year. This report will indicate the concrete results achieved by the Moldovan Government towards a visa-free regime.
