The potential of civil society in Germany

Julian Rappold recently published the article 'Schlummerndes Potential wecken: EU-in-BRIEF zur European Public Diplomacy erschienen' for the European Movement Germany. In it, he criticizes the German government for not fully exploiting the expertise, potential and diversity of the organised civil society in Germany, and calls for a comprehensive, inter-ministerial and network-based Public Diplomacy approach explicitly involving associations, media, non-state actors and think tanks that operate across borders in their daily work.

South Caucasus Security Forum

Robin Huguenot-Noël presented a research paper entitled 'The evolution of public spending in France and Germany: How to realign social protection with EU fiscal commitments?' in the framework of Young Scholars Initiative (YSI)’s Spring Meetings held in Bruegel on 13-14 April 2017. He also participated in other activities of the workshop on Fiscal Union and Social Europe organised by the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET), a US-based non-profit organisation.
