Andrea Frontini participated in an International Conference on 'The Western Balkans in the European Union; Enlargement to what, accession to what?', which was held in Rome on 5 April 2017, in the run up of the Trieste Summit on the Western Balkans, scheduled in mid-July 2017.

Youth employment
4 April 2017

Claire Dhéret participated in the ‘briefing for stakeholders’ organised by the European Court of Auditors which presented its recent report on the Youth Guarantee(AG) assessment. On this occasion, Dhéret also shared the findings of her comparative analysis of the implementation of the YG and highlighted the importance of EU policies in investing in human capital.

Meeting with the Emirates Diplomatic Academy

On 28 March 2017, Andrea Frontini, Amanda Paul and Francesca Fabbri met with a delegation of the Diplomatic Academy of the United Arab Emirates and discussed EPC’s recent project on ‘The Challenge of Jihadist Radicalisation’. On the same day, Andrea Frontini also participated, as a guest speaker, in a dinner discussion with the delegation on the Common Security and Defence Policy.

Investment needs in the EMU

Robin Huguenot-Noël spoke at a conference on the social dimension of the Investment Plan for Europe organised by the Jacques Delors Institute, in cooperation with the Conseil économique, social et environnemental, in Paris. Other panellists included Samuel Clause (European Investment Bank), José Manuel Fernandes (Member of the European Parliament) and Thomas Bignal (European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities).

Imbalances in the eurozone
26 March 2017

Robin Huguenot-Noël participated in the 'Sustainable Growth' working group of the Dialogue on Europe project, organised by the Berlin-based think tank Das Progressive Zentrum and the German Federal Foreign Office in Paris. This project gathers actors from the civil society based in Greece, Portugal, Italy, France, Spain, and Germany. Robin's presentation focused on socio-economic divergences in the EMU and suggested recommendations to address imbalances in the eurozone.
