EU-China relations - towards a strategic partnership

14 July 2005
Fraser Cameron (Senior Adviser to EPC on international programmes)

This Working Paper, published to coincide with the second annual China-EU Think Tank Round Table in Beijing, assesses the current state of relations between the two sides and make a number of recommendations for changing the structure to reflect the planned new relationship. The paper, written by the EPC's Founding Chairman Stanley Crossick, Director of Studies Fraser Cameron, and Senior Policy Analyst Axel Berkofsky, argues that, above all, the new relationship must include an ongoing strategic dialogue and involve, in addition to government, think tanks and academia, business and civil society.
