Migration and Integration Forum

This Forum, run in collaboration with the King Baudouin Foundation and the Compagnia di San Paolo, analyses immigration, asylum and integration policies in Europe, assesses their economic and social impact, and considers the issues raised by our increasingly multicultural societies.

With an ageing population, declining birth rates and specific labour market shortages, Europe is increasingly turning to migrants to help sustain its economic and social model. This Forum seeks to raise awareness about the facts - and dispel the myths - surrounding migration and integration.

It explores how migration policies have evolved at both national and EU level, and considers what action should be taken at all policy levels to promote the integration of migrants. It also analyses the economic, social, cultural and political implications of this process, including the rights and responsibilities of immigrants and attitudes towards them, and considers how best to foster the positive values of cultural pluralism and a multi-ethnic Europe.

The Forum is chaired by Ferruccio Pastore, Director of International and European Forum of Migration Research (FIERI), and coordinated by Sheena McLoughlin, Policy Analyst.
