EVENT
The European Policy Centre and EuroHealthNet, in the context of the MERGE Horizon Europe project (Measuring what matters – policy pathways to sustainable and inclusive wellbeing), recognise housing as a key determinant of healthy, inclusive and resilient communities. This Policy Lab will bring together policymakers, researchers, civil society and social economy experts to explore how to move from policy ambition to implementation. It will focus on how EU-level initiatives, particularly the Affordable Housing Plan, can support effective policy solutions at national and local levels.
The Policy Lab will approach housing from three interconnected dimensions:
-
Its role as an enabler of health and well-being;
-
The need for inclusive housing for all people and generations, including those experiencing the most extreme forms of housing exclusion, such as homelessness;
-
Housing affordability, including the role of public and private investment and sustainable finance.
-
These perspectives will provide the basis for three parallel breakout sessions. Each session will present evidence, identify challenges and solutions, share best practices and co-develop policy recommendations for the implementation of the Affordable Housing Plan.
Participation is open to EPC members, media, policymakers, civil servants, researchers and civil society organisations at national, regional and EU level.
