Impact Acceleration

 

The European Policy Centre (EPC) is a leading independent think tank in the heart of Brussels, providing balanced, impactful research that advances our mission of greater European integration. In a volatile, fast-moving world where permanent change and recurring crises are a reality, the EPC is looking for communications professionals to help us sharpen and accelerate our impact as the think tank enters its fourth decade.   

The successful candidates will have sharp political instincts combined with a proven capacity to respond to rapidly changing European and global events. He/She/They will have experience of the latest communications technology, be keen to experiment and innovate, have a solid pool of relevant media contacts in Brussels and national capitals – or a strong interest in developing them - and be able to craft key messages to the relevant actors to maximise our impact in a timely and effective manner.  

We are looking to fill two positions from Junior to Senior level to cover the following tasks and workflows:  

 

Accelerating Impact  

Senior role: 

  • Work closely with the EPC Management Team (senior) and analysts (both) to shape and accelerate the impact of EPC’s thought leadership  

 

Both Roles:  

  • Lead and/or support the EPC’s aim of becoming “AI Native”  

  • Implement the EPC’s impact and communications strategy 

 

Ensure Smooth Communications 

  • Lead (senior) and/or support (junior) the EPC’s social media output, adapting it to priority themes as political events and the internal organisation evolve 

  • Innovate our social media outputs from text/image to more contemporary tools such as video shortform and podcasts(Both) 

  • Manage the EPC website and maintain the right balance between findability and cybersecurity (junior, with senior oversight)) 

  • Manage the EPC team of communications professionals working in events, publications, social media, media outreach functions and assistants. (Senior) 

 

Project Management based approach:  

  • Ensure all functions maintain EPC’s project management workflows linking to finance and project management  

 

Working at the EPC in these capacities requires relevant experience, innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, flexibility, patience, leadership and empathy.  

People specifications: 

  • Junior role: 1 to 3 years’ experience  

  • Senior role: at least 4 to 5 years’ experience with strong management skills, communications experience and a prior leadership role  

  • Team players who are diligent and organised with strong attention to detail 

  • Proven ability and love of working in a fast-paced environment 

  • Able to develop or maintain a solid pool of relevant media contacts in Brussels and national capitals  

  • In tune with the news cycle of today’s media environment, including online and social media platforms 

  • Engaged with and experienced in EU affairs and committed to European integration 

  • Able to digest large amounts of information and know how to disseminate it for best impact 

  • Proficient in written and spoken English 

 

Additional Assets:  

  • Experience in think tanks and/or not-for-profit organisations is an asset but candidates from corporate or public sectors are also encouraged to apply  

  • Knowledge of French, Dutch or German.

The EPC is a registered AiSBL with a limited budget. We cannot offer high fees, but an opportunity to join a team of passionate, values driven people committed to democracy, rule of law and European integration.
