Amid rising Russian threats and a profound shift in US policy regarding European security, the European Union has the opportunity to make a key contribution to the future of European security and defence. The role of the European Parliament’s Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) is critical in building Europe’s technological and industrial base and forging closer ties with industry and citizens.
This event will commence with a keynote speech by Ms. Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann. The discussion will then focus on the role of SEDE in strengthening the EU’s approach to military and political challenges affecting Europe, the war in Ukraine, and shifting US priorities. The discussion will also cover the role of Germany and what more could be done to stop Putin’s aggression.
