The European Policy Centre is delighted to invite you to this in-person Policy Briefing. Following discussions at the United Nations Ocean Conference this June, Commissioner Kadis will present the new European Ocean Pact and provide a debrief on priorities for Europe’s blue economy in the new institutional cycle.
This Policy Briefing offers an opportunity to unpack the objectives of the Pact, designed to strengthen ocean governance through a more cross-sectoral approach. The event will explore links between the Pact and the EU’s climate and environmental goals, maritime security, energy transition and economic competitiveness.
The session will begin with a keynote speech from Commissioner Kadis, followed by an interview with Stefan Šipka, Head of the EPC's Sustainable Prosperity for Europe Programme, and an open Q&A session with the audience.
Participation is open to EPC members only, the media and EU officials.
