ONLINE POLICY LAB
In the context of the MERGE Horizon Europe project “Measuring what matters – policy pathways to sustainable and inclusive well-being”, this Policy Lab builds on the premise that whole-of-society participation, deliberative democracy and participatory processes can strengthen evidence-based decision-making, enhance legitimacy and help overcome vested interests.
Such approaches contribute not only to more democratic governance, but also to better policy outcomes by ensuring that decisions reflect citizens’ lived experiences, needs and aspirations. They are key to legitimising the goal of sustainable and inclusive well-being and sustaining commitment to it across electoral cycles.
This Policy Lab will bring together policymakers, civil servants, researchers and civil society representatives to explore how participatory and deliberative approaches can advance well-being–oriented governance. Participants will engage in interactive discussions and exchange practical insights on designing and implementing effective participatory processes.
Participation is open to EPC members, EU institutions and media, with special focus on policymakers, civil servants, researchers and civil society organisations at national, regional and local levels.
