This edition’s special focus discusses the upcoming New Pact on Migration and Asylum. Other key highlights of this Policy Update include an analysis of the emergency situation at the border between Greece and Turkey, the worrisome implications of Italy’s cooperation with Libya, insufficient and slow relocations from Italy and Malta and lack of resettlement from Niger. The Closer Look is from HumanRights360.

The Special Focus emphasises that the New Pact may push control-oriented policies even higher in the EU agenda, as this is the only area where consensus is likely to be found.
