Events and Front Desk Assistant

The European Policy Centre (EPC), a leading think tank on EU affairs, is URGENTLY seeking an Events and Front Desk Assistant to work in our thriving, highly advanced conference facilities where we organise in-person, hybrid and online events on a daily basis.

The candidate will be part of a small team responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the EPC’s intensive programme of events and meetings, reporting to the Events Executive and working with the EPC Operations Team.

The role is split 80-20 between Events and Front Desk duties. Events duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring catering is ordered, delivered on time and provided to participants, welcoming people to our events, and liaising with other external service providers are needed. The Front Desk duties include welcoming visitors to the EPC who come for meetings, managing the mail and other light administrative duties.

The candidate should have the following profile

  • A desire to enter a new position and learn.
  • Experience in providing administrative support to teams and organisations is preferred.
  • Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines under pressure, to multi-task and stick with tasks until they are completed.
  • Experience in budget planning and knowledge of EXCEL, candidates with working knowledge of SAP/MARI are preferred.
  • Good negotiation skills and the capacity to work in a team.
  • Fluency in English and competent in French (other languages are a plus).
  • Clear interest in European affairs.


Start date: As soon as possible. Daily presence in the (Brussels) office from 9 am to 17.45 with an hour for lunch is required for this position (17.00 on Fridays). Salary in line with civil society norms for entry-level positions.
