The EPC-FES project analysed the interests, policies, and objectives of China, Russia, and Turkey in Africa, including how they compete for influence and investment opportunities on the continent. Over the last decades, Africa has undergone major transformations, and the growing role of China, Russia, and Turkey has rapidly changed the power dynamics in Africa. The project sought to identify ways to strengthen the roles of the EU and the US and present areas for cooperation with like-minded partners. The resulting book, not only gives an in-depth analysis of Chinese, Russian, and Turkish ties with the continent, it also provides a set of policy recommendations for the EU and the US.

This online event will discuss the role of traditional and emerging powers in Africa and examine the current state and prospects for EU-Africa relations.
