The European Policy Centre is pleased to invite you to this EPC Talks Geopolitics in-person exchange with Nanaia Mahuta, Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand. EPC Talks Geopolitics is a signature initiative, which aims to engage globally renowned speakers in an interactive conversation on relevant geopolitical issues. 

New Zealand sits at a pivotal place in the Indo-Pacific region. Minister Nanaia Mahuta will discuss the country’s foreign policy, its partnerships in the Pacific and the Indo-Pacific, and the current state of relations with China. She will provide an update on New Zealand’s response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, including its first-ever use of autonomous sanctions against another country.

Further discussion topics will include EU-New Zealand bilateral cooperation and the recognition and inclusion of indigenous knowledge and economic participation at the heart of New Zealand’s foreign and economic relations.
