The European Policy Centre is pleased to invite you to EPC Talks Geopolitics with Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of the Republic of Moldova and Moldova’s Chief Negotiator for EU accession. Despite facing multiple hybrid threats and challenging economic conditions, people in Moldova have said 'Yes' to pro-EU constitutional changes and granted the incumbent president a renewed mandate to advance Moldova’s EU path.
Ms. Cristina Gherasimov will share Moldova's EU integration expectations for 2025; as well as how the Government can prepare for opening negotiations cluster by cluster, while navigating the challenges of an upcoming election period.
The Deputy Prime Minister will also give a brief overview of the newly established Bureau for European Integration, which is dedicated to mobilising the government and society to implement reforms swiftly and adopt the full EU acquis, with the goal of preparing Moldova for accession by 2030.
The discussion will also touch upon EU support for the reform agenda and reflect on potential pathways to prevent disinformation and foreign interference from eroding the democratic space in Moldova.
Participation is open to EPC members only, the media, and EU officials & invitees of the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the EU
