Task Force
Water as a human right - Task Force Workshop

EVENT
Tuesday, 25 March 2014

Water is a biological necessity for life and access to a clean and safe supply for drinking, cooking, hygiene and sanitary purposes, is a human right under international law. While this places responsibilities upon governments to ensure the right, implementation varies across countries and regions. Right to water does not necessarily mean it should be free, and it is reasonable to seek to cover the costs for delivering water. At the same time, affordability can become an important issue regarding access and it is essential to find different ways to assist those who may struggle with paying for their water.
