Policy Analyst - European integration

The European Policy Centre (EPC) is an independent, not-for-profit think tank dedicated to fostering European integration through analysis and debate, supporting and challenging decision-makers at all levels to make informed decisions based on evidence and analysis, and providing a platform for engaging partners, stakeholders and citizens in EU policy-making and in the debate about the future

The EPC has one Policy Analyst position for successful candidates to start in early 2022 the area of European integration, the functioning of EU institutions and decision-making, democratic theories and processes, citizens’ participation, disinformation, EU enlargement towards the Balkans.

                                                                                                                                                              

All Policy Analysts will be required to:

Coordinate of specific areas of activity, for example, projects and Task Forces, acting in an independent and autonomous way, including

  • Leading the elaboration & implementation of a specified EPC activity, including identifying project financing possibilities
  • Providing guidance and assistance to Junior Policy Analysts, Programme Assistants and interns
  • Planning, organisation and supporting implementation of related events in coordination with the Events Team
  • Research and analysis for publications and website
  • Taking a lead role in EPC events & meetings, and representing EPC at external events in the area of policy focus
  • Contacts with the media in coordination with SPA and the Communications department
  • Promoting the projects and EPC to potential members and funders
  • Reporting to the Senior Policy Analyst or Head of Programme as appropriate

The
candidate should have the following profile:

  • University degree, or a strongly demonstrable interest such as at least three years relevant work experience University degree, or a strongly demonstrable interest such as at least three years relevant work experience
  • Experience in organising events and in policy analysis,
  • Demonstrated ability to research, write and present high quality policy analysis,
  • Strong interest in European affairs and commitment to European integration,
  • A good understanding of EU policy developments related to the selected policy area,
  • Excellent communication and social skills (oral and written),
  • Ability to engage and network with experts and interested stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team,
  • Dynamic, flexible, reliable and attentive to detail,
  • Fluent in English and,
  • Fluency in one other European language would be an asset
