In response to globalisation and the new multi-polar balance of power, a new book by a team of Brussels and Leuven-based researchers argues that the EU should build up a world-class diplomatic corps, capable of becoming a major actor in global affairs, drawing on the enabling provisions contained in the Treaty of Lisbon.
