Marialena Stagianni
Programme Assistant
Marialena Stagianni is a Programme Assistant in the Sustainable Prosperity for Europe Programme at the European Policy Centre.

Before joining the EPC, Marialena was a Communications and Engagement Assistant (Interreg Volunteer Youth Programme) at the Interreg Managing Authority Greece - Cyprus, promoting the EU’s territorial cooperation. Marialena was also a trainee at the Permanent Representation of Greece to the European Union and the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a board member of the Governance of Sustainability Study Association (Leiden University), responsible for coordinating academic and career-oriented events.

Additionally, Marialena worked as a Trainee Researcher at the Turkish and Eurasian Studies Laboratory of the University of Piraeus. Her commitment to raising awareness about EU affairs led her to volunteer at the EU Parliament's 2019 elections campaign, "This time I’m voting".

Marialena holds a Bachelor of Science in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus. She also has a Master of Arts in European Studies from KU Leuven and a Master of Science in Governance of Sustainability from Leiden University. Her two Master’s theses focused on stakeholders' influence on the EU’s renewable hydrogen regulatory framework and the digital transformation of EU agriculture.
